FLOWERS, FLOWERS........EVERYWHERE

Needless to say the use of flowers has continued to be the number one way to decorate for your wedding. We are now seeing new, innovative ways to use flowers in other than traditional ways.

This flower revolution is primarily due to the “anything goes” attitudes of today’s couple. They are using flowers to personalize their events. So, what does this mean to upcoming flower trends?

Popular Flowers

Well, were likely to see the continuous use of roses in every color imaginable. Growers and silk manufactures are producing new, rich color tones like blue and two tone white and pink. Roses still remains the number flower choice for weddings. Closely behind the rose is the calla lily. They entered the scene about 5 years and have become a staple of floral elegance. The use of white or cream is still the most popular, but again newer more vibrant colors are entering the picture, such as deep burgundies or rich chocolate.  The most exciting new color trends are coming from the use of gerbera daisy. These flowers are extremely versatile and provide a fun feeling to any event. The are now available in new vibrant colors like neon green and pink, while also being available in yellow and pink two-tone.

Uses

Flowers are being used in every aspect of decorating and have begun to make their presence on bridal attire.

  • Monograms – using flowers or petals to create large monograms for entryway signs or in the grass for an outdoor venue is a sleek addition to any event, and if you choose to create a pictured version you can keep them and place them in your home.
  • Jewelry – this is a huge new trend. Flowers are being used to be the focal point of necklaces and bracelets. This accessory works great to keep your hands free and your style high.
  • Cake Accents – skip the traditional cake topper and go for floral accents through out the cake design. It creates an upscale look at a fraction of the cost, while making it look like you have left no detail unscathed.
  • Hair Accessories – there has been a big shift back to flowers for our hair. New floral combs are adding spunk and flair to every member of the bridal party. Brides are using hair combs to add an additional touch to their veil selections.
  • Purse Flowers – this trend provides a new expressive alternative to traditional corsages. Purse decorated with silk flowers is a great keepsake for a grandparent or godmother.  They provide an obvious involvement with the bridal party, but allow members to have their clothes free of holes and their hands free.
